    • Use the “None of the above” and “Other” options if you're not sure that you've added every possible answer. If the respondent can't find a suitable option, they may choose one of these rather than respond at random.

Set up the display criteria

You can set up the display logic for the second and subsequent pages in the survey. The user will see these questions only if they responded or gave a definite response to the previous questions. For example, let's say the first question is “Do you like our restaurant?”. If the user responds “Yes”, you can ask “What exactly do you like about it?”. If they answer “No”, you can ask “What should we work on?”.

To set a criteria, click Configure logic .

Step 3. Set up the labels

Note

You can set up the labels only in the desktop version of Yandex Surveys. This option is unavailable in the mobile version.

The labels are variables that you can assign to questions in the Survey Builder. The specified labels are displayed in the question block and in the statistics. You can set up the same labels in different surveys. It will allow you to combine different questionnaires and work with the unified statistics. The labels help you structure data and simplify the analysis.

To set up the labels go to the Survey actionsLabel settings.

You can specify the labels to questions. Also you can edit the labels and specify them new values.

Requirements for the name

Yandex Surveys makes the following requirements for the name of the labels:

  • The maximun length is — 32 symbols.

  • The name can contain numbers, Latin letters, symbols _ and .;

  • The name contains no spaces.

  • The name is unique for every question.

The reserved words that you can't use as names for the labels: ALL, AND, BY, EQ, GE, GT, LE, LT, NE, NOT, OR, TO and WITH.

To find the label, question on the text, or ID enter the desired value into the search bar.

When copying the survey — the labels are copied too.

You can download the labels in SPSS and Excel formats.

Examples of using the labels
Example 1

You're taking a survey to find out a person's food preferences. You collect the following data:

  • The respondent's age.

  • The respondent's gender.

  • The favorite cuisine (for example, Italian or Japanese).

  • The frequency of respondent's eats out per week.

When you specify the data in the database, also specify the label for every column for convenience. It helps you make an analysis more convinient. You can specify the labels шт this way:

  • The respondent's age → Age;

  • The respondent's gender → Gender;

  • The favorite cuisine → FavoriteCuisine;

  • The frequency of respondent's eats out per week → EatOutPerWeek.

Names of the variables give a clearly understanding about data that every column contains. Instead of Q1, Q2, Q3you immediately see Age, Gender that simplifies the work.

Also when performing statistical operations or building charts you can use meaningful names instead of Q1, Q2, Q3.

Example 2

If you have a few similar questionnaires, for example, in different languages, the labels help you bring data from several surveys into one database. It simplifies results management.
