About

A boardomatic is a prototype of your video that includes a series of hand-drawn shots, accompanied by a draft voiceover and music.

Its task is to tell your brand's story in a convincing way and give an idea of how your video will look.

The product lets you test boardomatics and find out at the very beginning of video production whether your video prototype achieves your goals, and how clear and convincing the story is.

How it works

Tests are run on the Y Tasks platform. Respondents view your video prototype and then answer the survey questions.

To make your test sample as similar as possible to your audience, you can select the respondents' parameters (their interests, gender, and age) or specify a representative sample. This makes sure that your prototypes are evaluated only by people whose opinion you are interested in.

After viewing, users give a rating on a 7-point scale. Examples of questions: “Is the storyline of this video innovative?”, “Do you like the characters?”. You can see these ratings under statistics in the Boardomatic rating section.

Then users rate their overall impression of the video prototype on a 7-point scale. This indicator is used to calculate “importance for the consumer”: it indicates how the rating for each specific criterion affected the overall impression of the creative.

Each boardomatic has an overall rating (an index). It combines all the rating criteria, taking into account their importance to the user. We show the index and ratings for individual criteria compared to the market: whether they're above, below, or at the market level.

To make the rating even more accurate, we added new mini-tests. Using mini-tests, you'll find out whether certain actors fit your brand or storyline. You can also select a range of options for your packshot and slogan that best convey the main idea of the prototype and best suit your brand in the users' opinion.

What result will you get

Based on the results of the test, you will get:

  • Summary index: Rating of your video in the context of importance for the consumer, on a 7-point scale.

  • Video rating according to 20 criteria: Use it to evaluate music or usefulness of your video.

  • Mini-test results show how well the actors, slogan, and packshot have been chosen.

  • Recommendations on how to improve the creative.
